mrgray : No surprise here: Dickies does a great set of carpenter pants. My only complaint, and this could just be a one-off problem, is that they are too long. I wear a 30 inseam and I find myself stepping on the hem of the jean sometimes.

One of the pair fit and one didn't and both tags were the same but one was obviously not marked correctly. Went through the process of returning and they don't supply a prepaid return label. Aspiring Underachiever (Vegas) : I don't stray much from Lee Dungarees but I needed a hearty pair of work jeans. I am very pleased with these. The feel good and are comfortable. My only issue is that the belt loops are off compared to all the other jeans I have. I wear a phone clip and like it to be pushed against the belt loop on my right hip. These loops are right over the pocket. I either have my phone over my pocket or if I move it then it is almost around my back.

J. Diekmann (Akron, OH USA) : They're very durable, both in fabric and general feel. Kinda stiff at first but they break in great. The pockets are nice and large inside but the openings are awful small. I have small hands and it's even tight for me to pull out my car key from the front pocket. Otherwise, great jeans for the money and they'll go a long way for you.

They also have a working bulky look to them, so I'll probably wear them mostly on my days off. Pocket is a perfect fit for the iPhone, which is one of the core reasons to wear these type jeans - so as to not have to carry the phone in the normal pockets. Overall great product, very sturdy and fit well.

JJ :  They last longer because they don't need washing as often as other non-jean "work pants" he's tried. He has an uneven waist size, and it is very hard to find pants that are available in those sizes. When he wore suspenders to hold up pants that were a bit too large in the waist because he could not get his exact size, the suspenders would tear up the waist band.

landlooker2 : I found these jeans at a local store back in 2004, and with the rugged knees, cell phone pocket, and relaxed fit, I would have to say that they are perfect for construction work. I usually buy 3 new pairs every year. A few guys on my crew have even started wearing them. I tried Carhartt and a few other "Heavy Duty" jeans, but they were not near as comfortable. I would recommend them to anyone.

Jim Rockview : These are great jeans. They are heavy weight, durable, and comfortable. I work with the homeless and seriously mentally ill and sometimes have to go into Skid Row or other unsanitary areas. These heavy jeans protect me from anything coming into contact with me, plus, they give me that heavy duty look that probably helps to keep me safe in these locations. I also use them for hiking, as they protect me from anything brushing up against my legs. These jeans are a great value !

I purchased a pair several months ago and fell in love with them. So I ordered 2 more pair, and will order more soon, altho not from McLendons. Very well made, I love the double knees, and the price is very reasonable. Same, if not better quality as Carhartt, and much less money.
The seller, on the other hand, advertised them as "in stock", when in fact they were not. Shipping took too long, as I had specifically searched for a supplier who would ship quickly, because I needed them soon.

A. Anderson (California) : ll jeans are great the first day and if you are only a casual wearer. I bought 3 pairs less than 6 months ago having them almost literally fall apart. The material is just ripping apart at the touch. They are not cut well for those looking for freedom of movement by stooping, bending or occasional crawling.
These are my work pants and they are washed twice weekly in bio degradable liquid laundry detergent only. No extra wear, no abuse, no chemical contact.
Cotton twill in Levi's never wore out like this when I was a kid but these are just crap. If you work for a living forget these. If you want to look like you work or commute to you're home office desk then they are just fine. The have a high cut waist which is why I like to avoid the "plumbers butt" and i am a plumber.
it's time to maybe think about making a pair of jeans by people that work for people that work and I don't mean made in China. My work clothes use to get 10 years of wear and if I get less than a years wear at $30 a pop then I certainly am willing to spend a lot more for durability. I don't recommend Dickies anymore if they can't deliver what they promise.

rha : These denim workman's jeans have a double layer of fabric on the front, from mid-thigh to the bottom of the leg. Double fabric means double the wear & tear, so they last longer. My husband loves the fit, also. If he's happy, I'm ecstatic.
